March Newsletter 2024 Tasmanian Theatre Awards Three River Theatre were proud to be represented by such a wonderful contingent that headed down to the Tasmanian Theatre Awards in Hobart last Saturday. Three River were ecstatic with 10 nominations for our production of Things I know to Be True by Andrew Bovell, directed by Leigh Oswin. And we shared the celebrations with other stand-out acts from Launceston and the wider Tasmania arts community at the very special 10th annual Tasmanian Theatre Awards. What a wonderful evening it was! Three River took home four awards in the community theatre category from the night, including Best Direction (Leigh Oswin), Best Production, Best Ensemble and Best Female Supporting Performance (Katie Hill) We extend a big congratulations to the whole team behind Things I Know to Be True and thank you to the Theatre Council of Tasmania for a fantastic night, celebrating Tasmanian Theatre. Three River Theatre - AGM and Play Reading Three River Theatre will be holding our Annual General Meeting this month. We invite all members, past and present to join us. We will also be entertained by the wonderful director Kerri Gay with her play reading of August Osage County, a tragicomedy written by Tracy Letts. When Beverly, the Weston family patriarch, goes missing, a web of estranged family members travel home to gather around his vitriolic spouse, Violet. The Laramie Project: Casting Announcement Three River Theatre are thrilled to announce the outstanding cast of The Laramie Project. Director Rae Smith was blown away by the calibre of talent at the auditions and is thrilled to be working alongside these nine incredible performers over the coming months This really will be a show not to be missed!
